Engineering

Member of Technical Staff, TLM: Research Scientist

As we scale our research ambitions, we need a scientist who doesn't just execute on known problems but defines new ones. This TLM role sits at the intersection of deep technical research and scientific leadership: you'll own a long-horizon agenda, mentor a small group, and help shape what this field becomes.

AI Resident

The AI Residency is built for a different kind of person: someone who's likely post-MS or equivalent, with real evidence they can do serious ML work, but who isn't yet operating at the level of independent, publication-driving science. You may not have direct experience in world models, generative video, multimodal learning, robotics, or multi-agent systems specifically, what matters more is that you're sharp, relentless, and capable of building that expertise fast, embedded alongside people who already have it. Residents work directly inside our core team projects, not on a side track. The work doesn't need to be publishable. It needs to move our actual research roadmap forward, and it needs to turn you into a stronger researcher and engineer by the time you leave. Residents who excel over the course of the program are extended full-time offers to join Odyssey permanently. The Process As part of your application, please submit a short research proposal for a project you'd like to pursue. This should be at most a page and it is intended to help scope projects. Projects will be refined with successful applicants and the Odyssey research team.

Engineering

VP, Engineering

You'll lead our ML platform and infrastructure group, spanning our data platform, evaluation systems and tooling, and compute. This leader will serve as a trusted partner to the founders and stakeholders across product and technology, and will report directly to our CTO and co-founder.

VP, Research

Odyssey is hiring a VP of Research to lead and grow our Frontier ML group, the researchers working at the cutting edge of world model capability, responsible for the first proof points of new algorithms and for pushing the frontier of what world models can do. This is a role for someone who wants to both set the research agenda and stay hands-on enough to shape it directly, not manage from a distance. You'll own Odyssey's research agenda across world simulation, multimodality, robotics, and multi-agent systems, define and execute the vision that positions Odyssey as the leading voice in world models, and take responsibility for the research roadmap, publication strategy, and external research reputation of the company. You'll report directly to Jeff Hawke, our Co-Founder and CTO, and work alongside James Grieve (VP, Applied ML), Fabian Güra (Distinguished Engineer), and a VP of Engineering we're hiring alongside you. What you'll own Leading and growing the Frontier ML research group, hiring, mentoring, and developing researchers at every level. Owning and driving Odyssey's research agenda across world simulation, multimodality, robotics, and multi-agent systems. Defining and communicating a research vision ambitious enough to position Odyssey as the leading voice in world models, one that attracts top talent to the field and to us specifically. Setting the research roadmap and publication strategy, and representing Odyssey's research externally to the broader community. Collaboration across disciplines with other VP-level leaders, driving forward Odyssey's holistic top-level strategy. Staying close enough to the work to directly run experimentation yourself, not just manage others doing it.

Operations

Member of Operations Staff, IT Manager

Odyssey Systems is looking for its first dedicated IT owner. You'll be the go-to person for everything technology across our Palo Alto office, and provide remote support and standards for our London and Zurich offices. This is a hands-on role with real ownership: you'll set IT policy, run our systems, and keep our rapidly growing team productive and secure.

Data Program Manager

The Data Program Manager is the connective tissue between research, vendors and the data flywheel. You are responsible for understanding our data needs by being deep in the frontier research space for multi-model methodologies and arxiv papers. You are responsible for presenting a credible data roadmap to the research, applied ML, and leadership and keeping stakeholders abreast of the pipeline and plans. You also own inbound requirements and turn those into a backlog the data-ops team can execute against. The right person thinks in processes, has strong opinions, and can hold both people (internal and external) and plans accountable.

Engineering

Business Development Lead, Robotics

We're hiring a Strategic Business Development Lead to build our robotics commercialization function from the ground up; identifying opportunities, closing the partnerships that anchor our go-to-market, and hiring the team to scale it.

Executive Assistant

Odyssey is seeking someone to support our leadership team across executive logistics, office operations, and day-to-day execution. This is a hands-on, high-trust role for someone who is fast-moving, highly organized, low-ego, and energized by making executives, teams, and offices more effective. You will serve as the CEO's go-to person for all things logistics & execution. You will also own Palo Alto office operations while the team is small, including running the day-to-day experience of our Palo Alto office, making sure it is warm, organized, visitor-ready, and a place where people genuinely want to work. This is a front-row seat to company-building at a frontier AI company. You will work closely with the CEO and Chief of Staff, build the operating systems that help the company scale, and become the trusted person who turns ambiguity into completed work. This role is based in Palo Alto and requires in-person attendance at our office five days per week.

You will operate with significant scope and trust, working directly with the leadership and partnering closely with research and engineering. This role requires strong product judgment, execution discipline, and comfort operating with ambiguity. The right person thinks in systems, has strong opinions, and can hold both people and plans accountable.
